THE

WORKS

My creative practice is drawn to what is often overlooked, unexpected, . The work here exists between noticing and making, where curiosity and play can transform into creation. This page holds ideas in progress; a space for my dreams to exist, unfold and evolve.

This is where I invite you to witness ideas blossom. & Perhaps, something might follow you out.

O1. MEET ME AT THE COURTS

ceramic | mixed media

This year I’ve explored themes of play, sport, games, movement, shadow, and stillness. Meet me at the courts is a playful dream state piece. Tennis balls of various sizes, nothing but the court is to scale.

A ceramic wall piece, a moment frozen in time, as if the player has disappeared into thin air, the balls and racket strewn about the court. shadows linger, dark color choice to show a heaviness, almost dystopian abandoned moment, where is the player, where is his opponent.

1. wanted to make a tennis court

2. wanted to make it different (whimsical)

3. played with scale and texture, material, and finish

4. aded text “meet me at the courts”

5. made one piece that cracked in firing, test piece two the finish didn’t turn out as id liked so its still “in the works, to create a new texture. added soft solder to one of the tennis balls for a metallic playful finish

END OF PROJECTS TO DISPLAY, the following are still in process of organizing. come back soon…

O3. STATIONARY CARD COLLECTION

I have been so obsessed with specimens, I love studying intricate details and marvel at natures intricacies, I have been super inspired by all the bugs Ive been able to see up close over the years, especially butterfly exhibits. Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of watching them hatch out out their chrysalis, I think its a magnificent marvel to be able to experience this and I was inspired to make my own collection. Upon moving into my new place this December I have a grand blank wall that needed to be filled. I also have been so inspired to create larger works and, while im out exploring and browsing shops I am constantly accessing and scanning my environment to see what would be interesting or visually striking. So for this collection I wanted to make a bunch of huge colorful bugs hanging on the wall like they were pinned specimens, for people to view. This eventually would be such a fun installation piece for an entry atrium for a science related establishment or museum.

O4 | CERAMIC AND SILVER JEWELRY LINE

ceramic | sterling silver

Love heard the saying, if it doesn’t exist make it so? I have so many pieces that I would love to be able to create and have last, my desire to work in a semi precious metal helps me bring that into fruition. I hope to explore my ideas in a new medium and something that can be a showcase for art out in the world. a wearable treasure.

O6. TILE RUG HANGING WALL ART

One morning I was walking downtown San Mateo when I passed this darling storefront. It was an empty establishment with a sign in the window that a new Tennant was just moving in. I was just lit up by the entry, it had this small cove entrance from the sidewalk that you walked through a small curved glass window display. I spent a few moments admiring the curves of the glass and inspecting the construction. I tend to stop and observe often. I believe its part of my process of learning and collecting “important information” subconsciously that will reflect in projects down the road. A sign taped to the window mentioned the new owners message about their new rug store opening soon. A small business owner. This was the next level of interest for me. I truly admire when new local and small businesses pop up and I enjoy being able to support local and learn about their ethos and product quality. I peeked inside at the space, it was beautiful, long and semi narrow and well lit, the lights were on and rugs were already beginning to be stacked on the ground inside. I saw a few patterns and color palletes that I really liked and was already excited to come back. I studied the store front and there it appeared in my mind, so easily, the math or the sobconcious mind and the art background I have is something I won’t ever be able to fully explain, but I wanted to see some fun rug displays in the storefront, and something that would catch the viewers passing by that they would stop to ponder and consider coming in to see more. I would design a tiled rug, individually carved and colored all attached by looped hooks. and it would be hung in the storefront window. Visually striking and relevant. next to the rugs in the display.

O1. ENTOMOLOGY COLLECTION

O1. D’CURIO APP DEVELOPMENT

A creative platform to connect and design and art related - filters for photos, design and art filters, healthy quotes, food and recipes,

O1. WOOD< METAL AND GLASSBLOWN COLLABORATION

I’m fascinated by all the different art forms and trades that are not as easily accessible. I am inspired by others who work in these fields and though I'm familiar with wood and metal shop - (not yet glass) I would love to be able to work alongside these different mediums to join our craft and learn and be inspired by one another. Of course every artists dream I would imagine would be to have their own shop space. But til that happens I’m enjoying making new friends along the way.

O1. NEWSPRINT + ZINE COLLECTION

I am slightly obsessed with small batch prints, I have always been drawn to graphic design and captivating books, prints, a slight addiction to stationary and I think it would be such a playful way to engage and share inspiration ideas and practice building community.
